5. Baking Soda

After the area is completely dry, which might be half a day later, it’s time to double down on the smell.

Take some baking soda on the area that once was to soak up any remaining odor that’s left behind. Give the baking soda around 15 to 20 minutes to do its thing effectively.

Once it’s time, simply take a vacuum and soak up all of the baking soda from the carpet.

One thing to remember, be sure the area is entirely dry before you apply it to the smelly area. If the area is still wet then the baking soda won’t be able to be vacuumed up.
